My name is Judy. I used to support my bad habits by writing advertising copy for a large retailer in downtown Minneapolis. Then I needed a rest, so I retired. I imagine I’ll make peace with retirement at some point, but in the meantime I do what I can to stay busy, including chronicling the strange behavior of my grandchildren for their eventual amusement and edification.
I write about other stuff too, just so people know I have a life.
When the Beatles sang “When I’m Sixty-four” in 1967, I don’t imagine they actually believed they’d get there one day and neither did I. But time shifts and there you are. You have kids without really a clue and before you know it one of them has a kid and it’s just a slippery slope after that.
I had these three daughters and then suddenly I had six grandkids. I didn’t ask for grandkids, nobody consulted me, but it changed my life and now here I am with a life that is not what I expected at all. I don’t know what I expected, but not this.
